Unnecessary charges and poor customer service

Unnecessary charges and poor customer service

I went overseas, text stating international data, called AT&T who assured no charges are being processed. Got changed $356. Filed a dispute, denied dispute because worker failed to document why the dispute was submitted. Asked for supervisor who states his supervisor is the one who can process refunds who is in a meeting and will call back. But supervisor agreed and acknowledged AT&T error. NO call back so I called back in. Informed I need to contact international department. International filed another dispute and offered 1/2 $178 refund. I refused 1/2 and ask for a supervisor. Supervisor wouldn't hear me out before yelling and hanging up on me. After many years of business I am DONE WITH AT&T

If I could give less than 1 star I…

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I switched to att from Verizon to save some money being told they have better faster service etc. firstly the service sucks. I wish I never left Verizon. Second, and most importantly, I upgraded our phones during a “promotion” where my trade in was worth $700 each. That’s way more than we owed on the phones. Great credit toward new phones. I paid the $360 to upgrade and got our new phones. Traded in the old ones. And moved on with life. 6months later I receive a $600 bill. Automatically deducted from my account. I just spent 45 minutes with a lady from att trying to figure it out. Turns out since the phones weren’t paid off I need to pay them off. What was the $360 I paid back when I got them? That’s to upgrade but not to pay off the phones? Nobody said anything about any other payments or money owed when I got it. I called someone and went in store to verify everything was done correctly and now 6 months later I get charge $600. Shady company with bad service and even worse customer service. I’m going to switch companies right now.
Stay away from this company!

Don't bother with AT&T 5G

Don't bother with AT&T 5G. You can not turn it off and it is slow AF. When my S21 switches from LTE to 5G my speed drops from over 100mps to LESS than 1mps, browsing is super slow, Pandora constantly stops to buffer. In a nutshell, it sucks.

Awful Customer Service. Nasty.

My ATT bill climbed two hundred bucks in a month. I was eligible for an upgrade so I do understand the new payment plan for the new phone. However, I was shocked when I expanded the bill online to see numerous charges and extra billing which look like a scam to me. It’s unreal. She asked me if I wanted to pay by direct debit and I said there’s no way I’m giving you guys my card details. I cancelled insurance on our phones and just got so pissed off with her snide attitude and blatant lying that I cussed a bit and threatened to take my business elsewhere. Which I can’t of course. Don’t go near ATT. They are dishonest and will bring nothing but misery.

AT&T has the worst customer support

AT&T has the worst customer support. We only get 30mgbs bandwidth. That's right, 30. And that's the best in my area apparently. Also, my internet cuts out around 8 times on a good day. Sometimes around 20 - 30 times on a bad day. I've had about 3 technicians come out and "fix" the two 25mgbs lines that run into my home. Never fixed my connection problems. Mind you, it took hours for the customer service representatives to even consider sending out a technician. I knew the problem before calling customer support, so when the picked up I explained the issue with the two 25mgbs lines, in which they responded with, "okay, let me run a few tests." Then proceeded to tell me I needed a new modem. I said no, that's not the issue, its the lines. He sent it anyways, which didn't fix anything. I was then told it was because there were parental controls that could be causing connection problems. Really? I asked what the parental controls were filtering, no answer. He just repeated that there were parental controls, but couldn't tell me what they were for. If I would've let them, they would've hung up on me after telling me about the "parental controls." They try to get you off the phone as quick as possible, with or without solving your issue. For example, I told them that I lose connection because one of the lines must be faulty and can't support 30mgbs bandwidth on one 25mgbs line, and emphasized that my modem loses connection, as well as all devices in the house. So, customer support responds with, "It looks like one of your wifi extenders is down, let me help you get that up and running and your problem should be solved." Um, what? 1. That wouldn't cause every device to lose connection 2. Yeah, It's down, because the modem is down.
In other words, if you have wifi problems, they won't get resolved. I'm in the process of calling out a 4th technician. I counted how many times I had to ask for a technician, 14 times, and got transferred 3 times. Don't use AT&T, they have horrible plans, and horrible customer support.

CALL CRIME STOPPERS

I called AT&T regarding an increase on my account. I was told there was a $8 “annual” increase and reassured my account would not increase more from that. Only to discover my account increased by $60 the following month. After spending over 2 hours on the phone with the billing and loyalty department, I was told that they would not reverse the additional charges and I would be responsible for the full balance. I would like to add I have been a loyal customer with AT&T for 7 years and paid my bill in a timely manner.... This has been the worst company I have ever done business with. I am ending services with this crooked company immediately and will not be looking back. My best advice is to run don’t walk away from this awful company. Don’t even think about doing business with ‘Awful AT&T’ unless you enjoy being ripped off with hidden charges and fees.

Horrible customer service

Buyer beware... after 18 years with AT&T I switched finally to Verizon a few months ago. I'm so glad I did. Never again!

Do NOT go to the Wilson Avenue store

Do NOT go to the Wilson Avenue store. They are very rude. I'll deal with the North Hanover Mall store from now on. They know how to treat a customer.

Worst customer support ever

1. chat process to find out the status of an already-placed repair ticket took over an hour, with agents dropping off mid-sentence and new ones coming on but starting from scratch; I'm on agent #4 at this writing in the same chat session.
2. AT&T online system kept throwing "403 Forbidden" web page errors using links provided by AT&T, thus necessitating use of chat since I could not use my landline (the reason for the repair ticket to begin with)

The most deceptive I have ever encountered

I would have given 0 stars to this company if I would have the option to. I switched to AT&T after seeing a promotion at BJs for $700 off for iPhone 12 if I switched phone service to At&T. I called At&T and was told that I could trade in two iPhones 8 plus for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini. I was told by sales representative that I could use the boxes that our new phones were shipped to send back to to At&T our two iPhones 8 Plus for the trade in. Sales representative never mentioned that I should keep a tracking number for the shipping of the 2 iPhone 8 Plus that I sent to AT&T. I signed with At&T 5 months ago. I still haven't received the credit for the two iPhones I traded in. I have called At&T 4 times and kept on the line for more than one hour. They keep telling me that they can't locate the phones I sent for trade in so they can't give me the credit for the trade in. They tell me that I should provide a tracking number for the shipment of iPhones I sent for the trade in. This was never mentioned when I signed in. In my experience as a customer I have returned many items/merchandise I had purchased from different companies with their return labels. I have never ever been asked for a tracking number of my return shipment and merchandise has always arrived at final destination. This is the first time that a company tells me they can't locate an item that was sent to them in the box they provided me with for shipment. I can't believe they haven't received my phones because it has never happened to me in the past with other companies. This is only their way to deceive the customer and not honor the trade in. The most deceptive company I have ever had the experience to deal with. Please don't fall prey of their deceptive and gotcha practices. Stay as far away as you can from this company.

They will not send you an itemized bill.
